A lo largo de mi trayectoria profesional me he especializado en cirugía oncológica digestiva y cirugía hepatopancreatobiliar (HPB), integrando la práctica clínica avanzada con la investigación y la docencia. Estudié Medicina en la Universidad de Chile, continuando luego mi formación en Cirugía General en la Pontificia Universidad Católica. Mi formación incluye fellowships internacionales en cirugía oncológica compleja en la Universidad de Toronto y en cirugía HPB en Australia, además de estancias de investigación en centros de referencia mundial como en centros de referencia en cáncer. Esta experiencia me ha permitido desarrollar un enfoque integral y multidisciplinario en el tratamiento del cáncer gástrico, cáncer de páncreas, cáncer hepatobiliar, sarcomas retroperitoneales y metástasis hepáticas, incorporando técnicas de cirugía mínimamente invasiva, endoscopía terapéutica y estrategias multimodales basadas en evidencia científica.
Paralelamente, he mantenido un compromiso activo con la divulgación científica y la generación de conocimiento. He participado como autor y coautor en numerosas publicaciones indexadas, capítulos de libros internacionales y estudios multicéntricos globales, contribuyendo a la comprensión de áreas clave como oncología quirúrgica, genética del cáncer, cirugía esofagogástrica y resultados oncológicos. Asimismo, he sido invitado como expositor experto en congresos internacionales en América, Europa y Asia, promoviendo la actualización continua y el intercambio académico. Mi rol como asesor para organismos de salud y sociedades científicas refuerza mi vocación por trasladar la investigación a la práctica clínica, con el objetivo final de mejorar el acceso, la calidad del tratamiento y los resultados en pacientes con patología oncológica digestiva.
